Survivors of childhood trauma and victims of violent crime may find walking outside in the open air difficult following their traumatic experiences. This group meets on a monthly basis at one of the gates in Richmond Park nearest to the AURORA HEALTH FOUNDATION premises. The group offers an opportunity for a walk in the park grounds for a couple of hours. The Walking/Talking Group gives a space for participants to walk together as a group and gather confidence being alongside others. There are between 2 and 3 facilitators for this group so that participants can also talk through any anxiety they are experiencing to one of the facilitators. There is also the additional benefit of exercise and fresh air. This can also be a space for those participants who may wish to meet some of the staff and find out more about the other services being offered at the AURORA HEALTH FOUNDATION at first hand before making a commitment.
